Australia has established an annual Australia-China Tourism Summit to highlight and respond to the enormous future growth opportunities of outbound tourism from China.
Australia was one of the first Western countries to establish tourism ties with China and to be granted Approved Destination Status (ADS) from the Chinese Government, enabling Chinese citizens to travel to Australia as part of an organized tour group.
China is Australia’s fastest growing inbound tourism market and Australia’s largest trading partner. The inaugural Australia-China Tourism Summit was followed by a separate Government Roundtable hosted by the Australian Senator the Hon. Mr Nick Sherry to work out strategies to encourage investment to Australia from China.
Australia needs Chinese investment to futher develop its tourism infrastructure so it can provide the quality tourist experiences Chinese travelers expect.
The Australian Government invited CHINA READY Global Chairman, Mr Garry Crockett, to participate in both events.
