CHINA READY has been appointed official partner for the 2015 Milan World Expo by the China Corporate United Pavilion (CCUP), one of the two main pavilions to be constructed by China to showcase its unique culture and economic development to the world.
The agreement between CHINA READY and CCUP was signed in Shanghai last week. The CCUP is a collaboration between China’s Government and China’s leading commercial enterprises.
China is now the major trading partner for most countries around the world, as well as a key source of investment, overseas students and inbound tourists.
As China’s President Xi Jinping said in 2013, “Over the next 5 years China will import US$10 trillion of products, foreign investment will reach US$ 500 billion, and outbound tourism is likely to exceed 400 million visits”.
The CCUP is the first time for China to showcase its economic, trade and investment capabilities at a world event, and to provide opportunities for attendees at the Expo to engage directly with representatives of China’s leading corporations and organizations.
The CCUP is expected to attract significant international interest as awareness of the enormous growth and economic strength of China is top of mind for people in many parts of the world. The CCUP is also expected to kindle pride in China’s achievements among the more than 1 million Chinese citizens expected to visit Italy for the Expo.
Milan and Italy will have a hard act to follow after the huge success of the last 2010 World Expo held in Shanghai, China. Many of the Chinese team involved in the organization of the Shanghai World Expo have been co-opted to assist in the planning and launch of the CCUP in Italy.
The Milan World Exposition runs for six months from May to October 2015.
